Material Comparison

Compare PLA, PETG and other families against your part, printer and approval requirements.

01

Compare the same job

Write one brief for the part before comparing materials. Include where it will be used, the finish you want and the checks it must pass. Compare each candidate against this same brief.

02

Build a useful shortlist

PLA is a starting point for models and general prototypes. PETG adds a functional-part direction; TPU covers flexible-part evaluation. ABS, ASA and engineering families belong in a shortlist when the application and available equipment call for them.

Confirm suitability through the selected grade guidance and a representative printed part. Do not infer a numeric property from the family name.

03

Compare equipment and appearance

For each candidate, record the preparation guidance, equipment constraints, color and surface reference. Keep appearance approval separate from fit or mechanical checks. A surface sample helps compare finishes but does not prove performance.

04

Connect the comparison to the order

Keep the grade, color, sample result, document scope and proposed quantity together. Record unresolved specifications before comparing quotations. Match each quotation to the same packaging, destination and approval requirements.
